With NYF, LFW, MFW and PFW all showcasing their ready-to-wear Spring/Summer collections in June, our South African talent has proven to be worthy of international recognition at the South African Menswear Week SS’16/17.

Terrence Bray
1.Terrence Bray

Terrence Bray
Not only have we seen brilliant struts and garment construction, we saw designers pay even more attention to the aesthetics of their shows. There is something perculiar about Terrence Bray.

Throughout the entire showcasing , it were as if we were reliving the era of the late Alexander Mc Queen. This was brilliant.
The head pieces allowed us to recall Mc Queens mentor, Isabella blow.
Bray has arguably outdone himself. A collection which oozed of creativity, it was amazing to be in his mind.

Jenevieve Lyons

Jenevieve LyonsA runway made of grass, this is exactly how Jenevieve Lyons brought her collection to life.

The earthy look &
feel came through in almost every look, consistency was definitely key. We also enjoyed the plaid touch which allowed for a different kind of edge.

3.Ruald Rheeder

Were we even ready for the opulence and mastery in Ruald Rheeders collection?
The type of collection that would make any man want to get into his Tux and walk in it the entire day.
Every ensemble perfectly positioned after the other to wow us even further. The immaculate tailoring of every jacket and its unique features complimented every look. With a distinct sense of regality to his collection, Rheeder has played well with texture, colour and fabric.

4.Lukhanyo Mdingi

With a very precise colour flow. Mdingi combined burnt orange, deep blues and white-washed hues effortlessly. The beauty of mobility in his garments was captivating.

Mai AtafoHave you ever just looked at a collection and instantly felt the impulse to take out your credit card and buy it all? Mai Atafo brought us clean cuts, smooth lines with superb styling.Mai Atafo
This was pret-et-porter redefined. The marrying of bright yellows, deep blues, whites and greys were simple but definitely aimed to captivate the essence of Mai Atafoyour soul.
Mai Atafo closed the week on an all time high and made us hungry for the next SAMW in February 2017.
We hope to see you there.
